Erik Thrane is a Wella Signature Artist based at the Los Angeles Wella Studio. With 15 years of experience in the industry, ten of which in education, Erik is inspired by collaborating and sharing his knowledge with stylists of all levels. He specializes in custom color placement and focusing on the how's and why’s, and currently leads the prestigious Wella Color Expert program in Los Angeles. He has a passion for science and chemistry that goes into coloring hair and products. As well as guiding fellow stylists on how to maximize their technical and business potential through pricing and service development is his main focus as an educator. Eriks educational contributions granted him the global recognition of Trainer of the year in 2021.
Wella Signature Artist, Carrera Alvarez, began her career as a colorist at Vidal Sassoon where she quickly found her passion for education focusing on color craft. For 23 years, her career has guided her through many paths in the industry: working behind the chair, as a celebrity colorist, cosmetology director, Wella Color Expert. Carrera works with stylists throughout the western states to support their continued technical skill development, while teaching them how to retain and grow their existing businesses. Her wealth of knowledge and passion for teaching has earned her the honor of Wella Professionals Trainer of the year in 2017 and 2021. She is based in Southern California.
For 15 years, Wella North America Signature Artist, Jennifer Ng has perfected the craft of cutting, coloring and styling to create complete transformations for her clients. She is passionate about growing the success of beauty professionals, making her the ideal instructor for new stylists looking to find their voice through creativity. After traveling the world and studying abroad in Asia, Jennifer is now based in Boston, where she combines her experiences as an educator, business manager and salon owner to inspire others and offer a meaningful education to fellow stylists. Jennifer was awarded Wella Professionals Trainer of the Year in 2020 and 2023.
Washington, DC-based Wella Signature Artist Alicia Avanpre is known for her detailed approach and knowledge of color theory and suitability. Her 10+ year career has led her to some of the most prestigious programs and events in the industry, some of which include being recognized for her work as a Sassoon Top Colorist, working in both San Fransisco and Washington DC, as well as working several seasons of New York Fashion Week. Alicia specializes in color formulation with an emphasis on luxury dimension. As a passionate and articulate hairdresser, Alicia works to help educate and elevate others' craft in the industry while simultaneously educating fellow hairdressers to embrace and celebrate working with all hair patterns, textures, and backgrounds, including the Spanish-speaking community here in the US. Alicia enjoys helping others elevate their craft and expand their service ticket while keeping client integrity and care at the forefront.
Over his 10-year career, Los Angeles based Wella Signature Artist, Tommy Gentile, has developed a love for continuing education. After earning his Wella Color Expert certification and witnessing the impact it had on his approach to business, he joined the Wella Signature Artist team in 2021 to share his knowledge with others. As a stylist, Tommy specializes in natural looks with customized color placements, balayage and lived-in color as well as classic and freeform cutting. As a businessperson, he teaches students how to increase productivity, add on services and optimize time management. He currently leads the Cut Craft & Cut Expert Programs in the Los Angeles Studio in addition to facilitating our Color Craft and Wella Color Expert programs.
Stacy Reid is a NA Wella Signature Artist currently based in Cleveland and has the passion to inspire artists throughout the central region of United States. She’s been in the industry for 10 years with education on the forefront for the past 6 years. Stacy brings a plethora of knowledge from multiple color brands and specializes in speaking to the importance of color theory and color correction. Stacy seeks to coach stylists to achieve excellence in their artistry, facilitate effective consultations, and to teach how to build a connection between professional services and product solutions for continuous business growth. Lindsey Rice is a Wella Signature Artist based in San Diego who plays the roles of coach and mentor, supporting the continued growth and development of stylists and educators. Lindsey has 18 years of experience in beauty and education, beginning with Sassoon Cut and Color methodology and moving forward to receive her Wella Color Expert certification in 2012. She was named Wella’s Trainer of the Year in 2021 & 2022. Always focused on precision and client suitability, Lindsey is known for her detailed and creative approach to formulation. Her current color passions are hypernatural dimension, tone-on-tone color melting, and all ranges of reds. Her approach to education is always thorough and dedicated to the growth of beauty professionals at all stages of their career.
